Location: Based at Plumstead Depot location however, work along the whole Elizabeth Line Central Operating Section (COS) is required.

Overview of role
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Maintenance Delivery Technician (SMDT) – Signalling to join the Elizabeth line ensuring the successful delivery and operation of London's newest railway.
Primarily the Senior Maintenance Delivery Technician shall assume a lead role faulting & maintenance role, providing team leadership and managing safety.
You will be expected to work to a shift pattern which shall include unsociable hours and weekend working.
The Elizabeth Line uses the advantages of moving block CBTC signalling in the COS, which integrates with ETCS and TWPS systems on Network Rail parts of the network.
The Senior Maintenance Delivery Technician is responsible for the delivery of safety of line inspections, asset monitoring, maintenance, like for like renewal and improvements works. This will include asset fault response, infrastructure inspection, asset data management and the safe delivery of reliability centred maintenance tasks.
You will be provided a high standard of training tailored to gaining the competencies to related to your role. Opportunity to obtain IRSE licences and actively encourage to maintain existing ones.
Key Accountabilities
- Leading the delivery of maintenance tasks as defined by the RFLi Engineering team, complying with defined RFLi standards, processes, procedures, and performance to be delivered. Part of the fault rectification team and handing back the railway to safe operation following maintenance and works completion.
- Deliver maintenance deployment planning with operations colleagues, ensuring that the operational requirements align with the maintenance engineering asset management requirements and deliver a compliant, safe, operable, and maintainable railway.
- To ensure that Rail for London Infrastructure (RFLi) fully address the specification, planning, execution and quality of the maintenance engineering and safety management requirements. This is part of the asset management strategy and plan to deliver the required asset whole life, Reliability Availability Maintainability (RAM) and Remote Condition monitoring.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Desirable Experience and Knowledge to Role:
- Knowledge of IP based systems & data networks.
- Experience working with railway interlocking systems.
- Good knowledge of Railway signalling, including the relevant maintenance methods, associated legislation, and standards (SMS/SMTH).
- Proven Experience in signalling maintenance and faulting delivery teams.
- SMTH and/or IRSE Licence holder (Ideally Maintainer/Faultfinder).
- Experienced working on In Bearer Clamp Lock points (IBCL).
- Substantial knowledge of railway safety-related standards regime and processes
