Basingstoke is a leading global aviation supplier of repair of avionic flight management systems for commercial airlines and business and regional aircraft.

We are currently recruiting for an Operations Manager to work as part of the leadership team in Basingstoke.
Managing a team of up to 35 technicians, your role is to enable the workforce to optimise their performance capabilities to meet the business requirements through effective management. Working closely with the Site Leader and other members of the leadership team, the role includes:

Role responsibilities:

Supervising a team of technicians based in the workshop.
Manage the team’s performance by setting clear objectives and improving the operating system to enable the delivery of results.
To act as a leader and a coach to develop high performing team members.
Ensuring quality standards are achieved.
Implementing health, safety and environment best practises – support the site initiatives and lead team objectives in an effort to provide a safe work place for all employees.
Deal with escalations and assisting in resolving issues – focus more on solution finding and working closely with other departments to ensure the right ownership is taken for the problem.

Experience:
Good experience in leading and delegating a team and people.
Strong PC skills – knowledge of SAP would be an advantage.
The ability to integrate within a site leadership team as well as drive team objectives.
Knowledge of Six Sigma or Lean Principles would be advantageous.
