Design Manager - Rail Civil Engineering - London
Salary:
£45,000 - £50,000 plus Package

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Rail Design Manager to assist with the growth of an established Principle Contractor who specialise in Rail. The Design Manager will be required to oversee Multi Discipline Rail projects, and have the capability to act as CEM on single discipline projects.
The Role:
As Design Manager you will play a critical part within the business, managing the liaison between the Consultancy, the client and the Contractor. Working within a busy Contractor environment you will be responsible for the checking and alteration of consultant designs in conjunction with the works been done on site. You will be the authorised CEM/CRE for signing off of designs.
The type of Rail Civil Engineering and Construction projects you will be involved with include:
- Rail Station & Bridge Refurbishment
- Depots (New Build and refurbishment)
- Earthworks & Embankments
- Road over Rail Bridges
- Platform Extensions
You will work closely with the Design Consultancy and the client, reviewing their drawings against client specification and build ability. You will also perform a nomadic role, visiting sites, dealing with any alterations and ensuring projects are been completed to specification.
Required Experience:
Successful candidates will be from a Main Contractor background, working their way up through a technical background, into a Design Management role. They will be interested in progressing their career into Engineering Management/ Technical Leadership. Candidates MUST be from a Rail Civil Engineering background, with exposure to the above projects. Ideally candidates will be Chartered, however the following qualifications/experience will be considered:
- Degree/HND in Civil Engineering or other relevant discipline
- Substantial rail civil engineering experience
