Based in Birmingham the Project Delivery team delivery a number of small to medium sized Electrification & Plant projects on the LNW North Route sponsored from the LNW Manchester Office. The team comprises 3 scheme project managers, a project management assistant and site manager supported by commercial, safety, engineering and controls.
The role is a Project Manager, Electrification & Plant which has become available due to maternity leave. The post is one of 4 PMs in the Signalling, Telecoms and Electrification team responsible for the delivery of a portfolio of small to medium sized projects with a total annual spend of around £40m per annum.
You will be Project Managing a portfolio of approx 15 different E&P projects including points Heating renewals, cable renewals, line side works and works to transformers. You will be liaising with some of our key contractors- who are recognised industry specialists- to complete these works. The projects range in value from £200k - £10m and we expect you to be confident to simultaneously leading projects at various stages from planning to those which are pending delivery/ completion.

Project : Conversion of Fixed Tension OLE
Management of key project awarded to a contractor which is programmed to be delivered in part during a 2012 Christmas blockade. The key objective for the Project Manager here will be to keep the team focussed on the project deadline.
Project: Signalling Power Distribution Cables
This project is currently in survey and optioneering stage. This £multimillion scheme is the biggest scheme in the portfolio and requires detailed planning and determination of an efficient delivery strategy. There is a strict programme to ensure delivery by March 2014.
Alongside the monitoring of projects, you’ll also allocate design and construction contracts, provide project management advice to colleagues and contractors, and undertake reviews of design and contract activities.
