Job Purpose:
Responsible for managing the EHS aspects for the regional offices within their region and for co-ordinating the EHS resources for all projects within the region.
Functional line manager for the EHS Specialists within their Region co-ordinating project support by liaising with the Regional Field Operations Manager to ensure adequate resources are allocated to support effective and delivery of projects from an EHS perspective.
Ensure compliance with Legal, Regulatory, Corporate and Client requirements from an EHS perspective for all work within their region.
Continuous improvement of the performance of the business from an EHS perspective in line with overall business goals and objectives.
Key Duties:
Management of the EHS team within the region including conducting annual reviews /appraisals.
From an EHS perspective
• Responsible for supporting all bids/tenders for new projects within the region.
• Acting as the primary interface to the client(s) in the region.
• Ensuring accuracy and timely submission of all data reporting for the region.
• Supporting all external/3rd party audits within the region.
• Support to continuous development of the company management system processes and procedures.
Essential Requirements:
• Certificate, Diploma, Degree or equivalent in, Health & Safety or related discipline.
• Membership of a professional body such as the IOSH or IMEI.
• Able to lead a team who have expertise in the application of:-
• Health & Safety and Environmental engineering as applied to the railway environment.
• Current Safety Standards, e.g. ISO 8001, ISO 14001. Applied within a railway environment.
• Ability to produce high quality document deliverables to short-time scales.
• Ability to communicate at all levels.
• Good team player but with ability to work on own initiative.
• PC literate and competent in the use of Microsoft Office packages.
Desirable Requirements:
• Experience of working in a team leader/management role.
• Significant involvement with railway applications.
• Willingness to occasionally travel to other Invensys Rail offices and contract sites as required.
