The Project
Nottingham Express Transit is extending the existing Nottingham Tram system with the construction of two new lines from the city centre terminus
About the role
HV, LV, traction & Auxiliary Power supply and OCS equipment’s Installation Management including resources, organisation and mobilisation
The HV, LV, traction & Auxiliary Power supply consists of, but is not limited to:
Traction, auxiliary power stations and HV –LV power cables laying on track platform and in tunnels:
AC HV & LV Switching and distribution cubicles, transformers, control command and protection panels’ site installation.
750VDC Switching and distribution cubicles, rectifiers, control command and protection panels’ site installation.
HV – LV – control command cables to be installed in power substations and on LRT platform.
The OCS system consists of, but is not limited to:
Masts foundations and supporting structures anchoring quality control and approval before handing over from CW contractor
Masts erection and contact wire suspension fittings installation
OCS cables and contact wires stringing and adjustment in the depot
Management of the construction site logistic
Staging area and products storage and site delivery
Preassembly of OCS fittings
Construction plants and tools
Duties & Responsibilities
Weekly works progress program control and associated reports.
Client complaints follow-up (non conformity forms)
Costs, QC and HS indicators
The Construction Manager (based on site) reports directly to the Electrification Project Manager and is in charge of making sure that the relevant equipment’s are installed in conformity with the Basic and Detail Designs, the installation procedures, the QA/QC system and the Time Schedule in place and cost.
You will implement on site the required organisation to ascertain that the construction works are performed in the best conditions of safety and reliability. In compliance with EHS plan, TGS and client safety rules.
Duties include also the necessity to co-ordinate on all technical aspects with the Engineering Manager and his team of Detail Design and with the procurement teams based in France and in Nottingham.
The Construction Manager is required to participate on the preparation of the Time Schedule and has the responsibility for running it and reporting to the Electrification Project Manager.
To implement his task, the Construction Manager is responsible for defining the necessary resources (human and material).
During the installation, the Construction Manager is required to organise the tasks, in a competent and consistent way, so that all key activities are properly controlled.
The Construction Manager will manage and control the Subcontractors performance as per their Subcontracts obligations
His duties include also to co-ordinate with the various Civil Contractors and other third parties on Site
The Construction Manager is responsible for his budget and the on-site QP & EHS plans implementation.
About You
Minimum 5 years, as site manager, in installation works.
Validated experience in electrical power system distribution construction anagement.
Good knowledge of the traction and auxiliary energy distribution system, in terms of installation. (OCS, Traction and auxiliary electrical power substations)
Good knowledge of the other activities, upstream to electrical power system distribution installation such as civil works and electromechanical industrial equipment’s.
Good understanding of electrical power system distribution design, testing and commissioning.
