Major rail and civil engineering contractor has an urgent requirement for a Health and Safety Adviser to join them on a major utilities contract based in the West Midlands .

You will be tasked with producing construction phase Health , Safety and Environmental plans , and will be required to carry out method statement reviews against legislation , client requirements, and group standards in a timely manner on accordance with the project timescale.

You will give advice to project teams and contractors and monitor the results of all client and company safety and environmental inspections and analyse them for any trends that require preventive actions and be able to recommend to the Health & Safety Manager potential improvements in the health & safety process to implement preventive actions.

In order to apply for this position it is essential that you have a working knowledge of health & safety in a utilities engineering environment, specifically gas distribution , and will certainly hold the Nebosh General Certificate as an absolute minimum . You will have a strong track record of working on major utilities infrastructure upgrades , and be a hands-on individual familiar with working out on site and ensuring project safety and best practice at all times .

Please note that this will involve some regular travel around the project sites so you must have a full UK driving licence and be prepared to travel as required.
