My client a leading civil engineering company are looking for an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their team based in London.

The ideal candidate will:

•Demonstrates knowledge of Civils/roads project experience of circa £35million
•Have an ability to build up estimates from first principle as well as understand the components that make up net and gross estimates
•Ability to translate measurement from drawings and Specifications and prepare Bills of Quantities and Schedules of rates
•Understands the principles of planning and its uses in commercial management
•Understands the principles of Budget and Cost Management
•Ability to demonstrate knowledge of Civil Law in the context of construction.
•A working knowledge of cost variables
•Working knowledge of plant, equipment, materials and labour
•Analysis of drawings, technical reports & bills of quantities
You will be responsible for the following:
•Measure, record & value work unsupervised in accordance with appropriate rules and procedures
•Measure & interpret specifications & drawings
•Review weekly, monthly, section programmes of works
•Plan commercial activities to meet requirements of section programmes
•Collation of Cost and Value Information
•Collect information required to specify procurement requirements
•Measurement of works and agreements with subcontractors

It is essential that you come from a roads and highways background and are educated to a degree level.
