What is the Role?
This is a freelance Mechanical and Engineering rail job working for a Major rail design house, producing Lighting Designs for various Network Rail Infrastructure Assets.
The team has already been provided with the Lighting plans, your role will involve visit the site, to understand the practical solution to supply the lightening with Power. You will consider the assets available such as the cable toughing in situ to see if there is spare capacity etc.
You will consider the need for UTC, (under track crossings).
You will return to the design house and produce the Hevacomp power calculations for the lighting.
Whilst this is a rail job, previous experience in the rail sector is not mandatory and a background in power design for Street Lighting or Car Park Lighting or Business Services would be suitable.
You must be able to;
· Utilise Hevacomp
· An understanding of Amtech.is beneficial
· Understand DNO.
· Undertake Earthing and Bonding.
· Ideally you will possess a B Eng Degree
Ideally you will be to undertake site surveys, then produce the designs, however if you haven’t undertaken site surveys in a previous role, but are excellent at producing designs then the client would still be interested.
