Logistics Manager- Major Prestigious Project- c£50k + benefits

Our client, one of the UK’s leading civil engineering contractors, is seeking to appoint a Logistics Manager to hold overall responsibility for the delivery and control of all materials, removal of waste, equipment and plant on this major high profile project in central London. You will also control all aspects of the deployment of materials and plant to the various sections of the project site. The project is one of the highest profile projects in London at present with construction due to complete in 2018.

Duties will include:

Develop, implement and manage a sustainable delivery and deployment model for a very challenging city center site
Lead and influence a project team to deliver the above service
Collaborate with project teams to measure and deliver a quality service
Ensure that the deliveries are made in a safe, compliant and in a timely manner and are fit for purpose whilst working with restricted delivery times
Manage and deploy people and systems to ensure the efficient day-to-day running of site logistics
Respond to the demands of the contract and where necessary be able to implement any late notice requests or changes
To be considered for this role it is required that you have measurable and demonstrable experience as a Logistics Manager in a similar environment, having undertaken this role on a major multimillion civil/rail/construction project in an inner city environment. You will be highly adept at managing large site logistics, have knowledge of loading capacity and haulage law, be an excellent man manager and be able to influence individuals to comply with regulations and have excellent planning and organizational skills.
