We are recruiting for a major player in the rail industry keen to appoint pedigree Rolling Stock Technicians for a number of depots in and around London. This multi-national established client has years an influential market presence in the rail industry. In advance of the London 2012 Olympics our client is looking increase their headcount of permanent Maintenance Technicians to complete a number of maintenance projects through out 2012 and beyond.

THE ROLE: - As a Rolling Stock Technician, you will be required to undertake various types of service and repair to rolling stock vehicles and potentially attend break downs as and when necessary. Dependent on the schedule of work at hand, there may be a strong focus on fault finding using specialized rail software for doors, cabs, GSMR etc on advanced lap top systems to analyse and diagnose faults. You may also be required to use the classic method of multimeters, meggaing equipment and scopes to diagnose electrical faults whilst working with schematics drawings and wiring diagrams. You could also be selected for more of a general mechanical maintenance route where you would be a required to complete visual exams and preparation work on the trains and general maintenance and repair.

*You MUST display electrical competance or an equal mechanical and electrical competance complimented by electrical qualifications as part of your CV to qualify for the highest level salary however any CV with a strong rail or avionics background will be considered for this role.
*As this a permanent role we will only consider candidate that are focus on this route of work and you will be asked to demonstrate you commitment on the phone.
*If you are looking to apply your CV must show that you are capable of fault finding/exam work on rolling stock in order to receive a call. You will be tested on the phone on your technical competency.
*We are looking for a candidate that has ideally been time served in an electrical engineering role or has a recognized qualification such as City & Guilds, HNC etc or an electrical qualification such as 17th/18th Edition etc to qualify for the top salary however we will consider all relevant qualifications and experience.
*We consider most of the tasks involved in the work completed on rolling stock to have the same restrictions and tolerances as aviation and aircraft Technicians are faced with and for this reason we strongly consider all candidates from this background. We also consider candidates that have worked on complex heavy machinery such as production line machinery, printing presses in large factories etc.

RATES:- £35,000 to £37,600 + Final Salary Pension + Paid Holiday + Company Benefits
