My client is currently recruiting for a Project Planner. You will be working for a Rail infrastructure company who work on Telecoms, Signalling and Power projects and have recentley won a number of large projects. Career progression is very likely within this company
Location: Commutable from Midlands / North Midlands / Bedfordshire / Oxfordshire / London
Salary - £30K - £45K
Job Title - Rail Project Planner
Job Role:
To develop comprehensive, logic linked, project programmes for UK infrastructure projects incorporating resource and skills planning, materials planning, cost estimating, earned value forecasting and reporting.
To continuously monitor the programmes prepared to accurately reflect progress and maintain accurate earned value, cash prediction, resource data for internal and external purposes.
Provision of periodic reporting to Project Services and project management.
To identify critical paths and ensure action plans are developed and implemented to maximise project quality, cost and delivery objectives.
To provide sufficient accurate data to enable the Work Package Managers and Project Managers to ensure that co-ordinated project activity complies with and delivers company financial and business targets on cash and project margins
Skills:
o Previous Rail Planning experience and ideally Rail Signalling projects knowledge - Network Rail GRIP 3, 4 and 5-8 would be ideal
o Excellent knowledge of Primavera P6 / P3e / P3 & a working knowledge of MS project, MS Word, MS
o Problem solving and resolution skills and techniques
o Communication skills - ability to communicate and build relationships
o Ability to persuade and influence others
o Action orientated - 'can do' approach / Objective and target focused
o Ability to identify risks and minimise exposure
o Work planning, organisation and control
o Attentive to detail
o Proactive in pursuit
o Knowledge of contractual requirements
o Knowledge and experience of working in a business processes environment
Qualifications
o Educated to A Level standard
o Experience in Rail project planning / scheduling role
o Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Access packages
