An excellent opportunity currently exists to work on key projects for Invensys.
Reporting to the Regional Engineering Manager the Principal Project Engineer (PPE) will oversee the project engineering on all projects within an office.
You will provide project engineering team leadership to ensure projects are to the required quality and safety standards and to project timescales, allocating work packages to the Work Package Managers who will be responsible for delivery.
You will also have responsibility for management of performance and the development of the Project Engineering team. You are responsible for ensuring all Project Engineering procedures and tools are deployed consistently across the project portfolio as well as ensuring Technical and Engineering Standards are complied with.
At times, you may also carry out Project Engineering works as required, ensuring that Engineering Safety Risk is managed effectively throughout the delivery of project engineering works.
Experience, skills and qualifications required:
Established Professional status within the signalling industry will have significant experience of engineering delivery and site implementation on large signalling schemes in the UK,
Commercial awareness with the ability to forecast and manage resource utilisation and costs.
Safety culture aware - to be able to influence and develop an existing safety culture to latest generation thinking and practice.
A broad base of Engineering skills, experiences, knowledge and competencies covering the full engineering lifecycle, together with the requisite personal characteristics, to take responsibility for facilitating cross disciplinary Engineering activity in complex, innovative and commercially challenging environments.
Previous experience in Systems Engineering, Project Engineering and design of safety critical or safety related real-time systems, test and installation environments.
Your contractual base will be Chippenham, the project base will be Reading”.
