Telecoms Project Manager - Rail Industry

West Midlands
Salary:
Up to £45,000 plus expenses
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager to work for a telecoms contractor within the rail sector and become involved in managing the operational telecoms projects which are being undertaken. The company themselves undertake such projects as Level Crossings, Station Upgrades and Resignalling within the UK.
Role Description
This role requires you to
- Monitor and control project performance through the use of applicable project management tools i.e. risk and issue management, escalation criteria, project tolerances and KPI's;
- Produce formal project progress and financial reports for senior managers within the business
- Procure specialist expertise, advice and guidance regarding tramway engineering, safety and operations for the design and delivery of works as necessary;
- Manage the project approval process relating to any necessary powers and consents;
- Manage direct reports' workloads, performance issues and professional behaviour to ensure a culture of accountability and outcome focus is established and maintained. Manage the professional and individual development of team members to ensure they are fully empowered to carry out their role and establish an ethos of continuous improvement
- Liaise with clients and other rail contractors to ensure successful completion of the project
Required Experience
For this role you will be required to:
- Have previous experience working on Rail telecoms projects as a project manager
- Be familiar with contract conditions
- Have an awareness of health, safety and environmental issues
- Be fully aware commercial and financial issues and processes
- Have a HNC within an engineering subject
- Have experience in managing multidisciplinary projects
