Rail Infrastructure Director - £80k - £90k basic + Car allowance + Bonus + Pension to be based in London.
My client is a World renowned Project & Cost management consultancy, who have a reputation for excellence and a flair for delivering high profile projects in the transportation and property sectors. Due to continued organic growth and successful tender on to major frameworks with TFL & ORR they are seeking a Director to join their Rail team to support their growth and potential Programme delivery partner role on Crossrail.
Responsibilities
You must have good experience of major rail related schemes as well as experience of leading teams and have had experience of working in a consultancy environment
Your skill sets should revolve around the cost planning and estimating skills required on major rail programmes.
You must also have a detailed understanding of all signal, track and power issues associated with major rail programmes. If you have an understanding or exposure of fit out requirements in relation to rail in a tunnelled environment you will be at an advantage!
Job Activities/Duties
Cost Estimating/Planning of work packages, including benchmarking of rates, creation of rates from first principles and preparation of cost plans
Identifying and acting upon opportunities to improve procedures, templates and products and hence improve the service provided to clients.
Knowledge management – Ensuring that key information and learning generated from each commission is input into the internal database.
Creating strategic partnerships with suppliers, creating communication channels for critical information and operational improvements.
Taking a lead role in interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages
Taking responsibility for developing new business opportunities with existing and new clients
Understanding, identifying and acting upon cross-divisional opportunities
Process improvement – Identifying and acting upon ways to improve internal systems and processes.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will:
Have experience in Cost/Estimating Planning in a complex Rail environment
Have significant experience in the Rail sector
Have experience working on Major programmes in a Rail Environment
Be Degree Qualified and preferably within a relevant discipline
Be Chartered (RICS) or equivalent
