Senior OLE Designer, Manchester
£37k to £42k + excellent benefits
Talascend are recruiting on behalf of an international engineering consultancy who are expanding their team due to organic growth and increasing project loads from satisfied customers.

Senior OLE Designer role:
Provision of a high standard of OLE design to various rail disciplines, including E&P (Electrification and Plant) and others, in conjunction and integration with your colleagues.
?
You will be offered the chance to develop personally and professionally by developing your OLE skills with the potential for team management. The focus will be on developing your design skills and relevant experience of OLE design tasks with project experience, and so enhancing the company capability as a whole. There is scope for the role to take on responsibility for financial and people management / mentoring. This will depend on business need. There are also opportunities, if desired, for short-term placements in other offices and in time, overseas.

Key responsibilities:
Production and checking of scheme and detailed OLE designs and calculations.
Work autonomously with support from discipline leader on a range of small to medium projects.
Outline and detailed OLE design input and calculations (concepts/ design principles) to multidisciplinary design teams on other large or medium sized projects.
Producing or checking: preliminary and detailed OLE layouts, cross-sections; technical studies and reports; generation and evaluation of technical design options; design calculations and analysis; specialised report writing and interfacing with other disciplines.
May also include concept design, feasibility design and operations.
Proactively plan and manage the work of self and others within the defined scope of a series of activities or a project.
Design deadlines for own and others tasks to agreed timescales.
Attending in-house and external training sessions, and for management of own training and personal development.
Operating in accordance with local combined management system assurance procedures.
Contributing to the development of good practice within discipline through involvement with skills networks.
Assistance with the liaison with relevant external parties to ensure understanding of the client`s needs and project requirements.
