Our client is a leading provider of engineering support to the civil engineering sector looking to recruit a Senior Engineer.
Job Description
Provision of technical support to the Senior Renewals Manager for the planning and delivery of track renewals ensuring all technical aspects of the works comply with relevant Network Rail Group and Line Standards and safety legislation.
Responsibilities
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES OR MAIN TASKS
1.Provide technical support to the Renewals Manager and Senior Supervisors.
2.Monitor and ensure technical compliance on all works, site and office. 3.Ensure all works are undertaken in compliance with Contractual Specification and Network Rail Group and Line Standards.
4.Adherence with all relevant Safety Legislation.
5.Undertake all technical aspects of works in compliance with Network Rail Group and Line Standards.
6.Undertake surveys, planning and programming of work, technical supervision on site, preparation of documents.
7.Hold Whiteboard/Stage Gate meetings in accordance with Track Renewals Procedure producing the required outputs to support effective and robust delivery of the works to completion.
8.Review completed works to ensure ‘Best Practice’ and ‘Lessons Learnt’ activities are captured, recorded and utilised in future work planning and execution.
Specific Job Requirements
1.Participate in the planning and preparation of Track Renewal works. 2.Ensure the preparation and maintenance of all records required to meet Network Rail Line Standards.
3.Assist with the production of registers for management reports.
4.Co-ordinate/Chair/Attend and record site meetings
5.Exercise leadership over other technical staff.
6.Production of design drawings in accordance with contract specifications. 7.Assist in the costing of technical activities within track renewal works. 8.Ensure the preparation and submission of Bar Charts/Time Chainage charts, Lifting Plans, WPP’s, task Briefs and other site documentation for all works.
9.Ensure all works undertaken are planned, installed and tested in accordance with appropriate Network Rail Group and Line Standards. 10.Plan and requisition all plant as required for the works.
Qualifications & Requirements
KNOWLEDGE
1.Good knowledge of Track Renewals Disciplines.
2.Excellent knowledge of Rules & Regulations, H.A.S.A.W and other appropriate regulations.
3.Excellent knowledge of both group and line standards.
4.In depth knowledge of all aspects of track renewals disciplines.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
1.HNC in an Engineering discipline or working towards.
2.Good IT skills.
3.Good communication and man management skills.
4.Able to drive or willing to learn.
5.PTS and COSS
EXPERIENCE
1.Experience of a broad range of relevant Engineering fields.
