Our client is the leading provider of engineering, construction and technical services for public agencies and private sector companies around the world. They are currently looking for Permanent Way Engineers at various levels to join their expanding team of designers at various locations across the U.K.
As the Senior Permanent Way Design engineer you will be required to direct, lead and undertake the design of track layouts and alignments (Feasibility and detail design stages) including the use of Inrail and Mx rail modelling.
You will be required to provide specialist technical support and assistance on various rail projects and ensure that all technical tasks are undertaken in accordance with the Companies quality, safety and project management.
Duties:
-Carry out feasibility, online and detailed design.
-Prepare and check reports, specifications and undertake interdisplinery design reviews.
-Attend and chair IDR meetings and reviews with Clients.
-Work effectively as a member of the project team.
-Operate within the quality standards. (Network Rail and Line standards)
Essential:
-Understand the principles of design; to be conversant with design packages such as Bentley Railtrack, ClearRoute and Microstation.
-To be able to write concise reports, to the GRIP 3 stages.
-HNC (or equivalent) in mechanical or Civil Engineering.
-A degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
-Survey experience using total station is desirable.
