Our client is a global technology leader and supplier to the railroad, marine, drilling, wind and mining industries. They provide railway signalling and communications systems, information technology solutions and many more. Within their already developed team they require a Senior Project Engineer to work on a new project.

Essential Responsibilities
• Full responsibility for project concept, requirements, assurance plan, acceptance criteria, project scope and technical specification
• Ensure that the project is delivered to the required technical standards, specifications and procedures and management of all non-compliance issues
• Lead the engineering delivery of the projects, working with the engineering team to include interfaces with NPI, supply chain, construction, testing and commissioning, management of the change control process,
• Support the Project Manager in hazard identification and management, checking designs, work package plans, and task briefs to identify and mitigate project risks
• Ensure Engineering deliverables are on time and within budget
• Lead and mentor project engineering team to ensure competence standards are met
• Provide the company’s lead technical interface to the customer for project matters, including technical queries, requests for information, attendance on Project progress meetings/ design reviews
• Responsible for the design of signalling and control system hardware and data
• Preparation of technical work packages and tasks for execution by in-house and external resources
• Actively seek to improve processes in order to maximize Project margins
• Support the CRE with periodic design reviews
• Act as the key technical interface with other functions within the business
• Maintain an up to date knowledge of signalling principles, standards and practices

Qualifications/Requirements
• Educated to Degree level (or equivalent)
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications and Microstation CAD
• Conversant with planning and aware of financial management
• Relevant experience of railway signalling and control systems
• Able to prepare system design specifications
• Capable of being appropriately licensed to IRSE standards and requirements
