Leading rail company urgently need a Welding & NDT Shift Supervisor on a contract basis for 6 months at the CTRL depot at Singlewell, Kent. Rate: 220/day.
Shift Supervisor to manage and direct a team on the inspection, testing and maintenance of rails (in particular Welding & Grinding) within agreed resource levels.
As Shift Supervisor, the successful applicant will be expected to work day and night shifts, including weekends.
Duties of the role:
Manage and direct the Rail Management team to achieve business and functional objectives and meet key performance measures,
Manage development of individuals and the engagement of the team,
Manage the arrangements for staff safety and competence,
Identify and implement asset performance, reliability, productivity and efficiency improvement initiatives,
Develop and agree inspection, testing and maintenance programmes,
Manage the inspection, testing and maintenance of assets to standards,
Prioritise work arising and agree work plans,
Accurately update systems, databases and records as required,
Undertake technical inspections and investigations,
Undertake an agreed programme of staff surveillance, work quality and asset condition checks.
Essential Requirements:
Technical competence in rail management processes and techniques,
Excellent technical experience in Railway Track Welding & Grinding,
Detailed knowledge of relevant standards and procedures,
Knowledge of other functional disciplines within Railway,
Knowledge of operational Railway environment,
Good interpersonal, influencing, communication and organisation skills,
Knowledge of coaching techniques,
HNC/HND or equivalent qualification.
