About the role
The principal function of this position is to produce and check signalling design documents for allocated projects as appropriate, including signalling plans, wiring details, design risk assessments. Provide input to tender documents and estimates. Organise and attend occasional site visits as appropriate. Work within the allocated project team providing mentoring to less experienced staff as required.
For suitably qualified individuals, there may be opportunities to carry out signalling testing as part of our testing team.
The priorities of this role include:
Producing high quality, accurate designs, to client’s contractual requirements and company standards
Participating in the project team contributing to two way communications with staff in the team
Assisting in the development of staff skills, providing appropriate mentoring and support as required
Co-operate with other team members, the responsible design manager, project manager and planners to optimise utilisation and project delivery
The ideal candidate should possess an appropriate technical qualification or equivalent and be able to demonstrate the following skills and knowledge:
Good knowledge of signalling principles
Proficient in the use of Microstation including plans and circuit design in CAD
Current knowledge of signalling design processes
IRSE Designer License 1.1.510 (was 1.1.150C)
Committed to satisfying client and company requirements
IRSE Designer License 1.1.510 (was 1.1.150C)
