URS acquisition of Scott Wilson firmly positioned us as one of the UK’s top engineering and environmental consultancies and a leading provider of rail engineering services.
We design, build, expand, operate and maintain the broadest array of infrastructure, from tunnels, bridges, roads and railways to all manner of public sector facilities and commercial buildings. In rail, as Scott Wilson, we built a reputation as a deliverer of multi-disciplinary design solutions on major programmes such as West Coast Route Modernisation, Crossrail on Network Works and Airdrie to Bathgate Reopening. Our expertise spans the breadth of the rail engineering design disciplines through the entire project life cycle and is provided from a range of offices across the UK.
Our Heavy Rail Business Unit is a 200 strong employer of rail professionals developing and delivering multi-disciplinary design solutions across permanent way, signalling, telecoms, electrical, mechanical, civils and geotechnical engineering. Recent impressive project wins with Network Rail and national major Contractors have provided opportunities to grow our resource pool at all levels across our UK offices with current key projects including Crossrail, HS2 (London/Birmingham/Manchester), S&C Renewals programme, Borders Railway, North Doncaster Chord, CASR and a wide ranging portfolio across the UK and internationally.
URS has huge growth plans, and we are looking for committed, motivated Signalling Design Engineers (at all levels including Senior / Principal) to help us deliver them. We are currently recruiting into our Swindon, York & Glasgow offices.
As a Signalling Design Engineer you will have hands on delivery of technical challenges provided by a wide range of signalling related projects, and undertake or independently check complex detailed signalling design work. As such you will have a thorough understanding of signalling principles backed by technical qualifications and with demonstrable experience in the railway environment.
Current projects include; S&C renewals, Rochdale Phase 2, Thames Valley Signalling Centre, work for Translink in Northern Ireland, NW Electrification and many more. We offer interesting work Grip 2 - Grip 5.
Our teams are collaborative and offer a more relaxed and friendly environment to work in compared to our competitors.
