Job Description
Assist Senior Supervisor and Renewals Manager in the planning and safe delivery of Track Renewals work packages in compliance with the appropriate Network Rail Group and Line Standards and Safety Legislation within the agreed financial Contractual Allowables.

Responsibilities

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES OR MAIN TASKS

1.Assist in the detailed planning and execution of Track Renewals Works as allocated by the Renewals Manager and Senior Supervisor.
2.Responsible for planning and directing the activities of track staff.
3.Assist with and attend Whiteboard/Stage Gate meetings in accordance with Babcock Rail Track Renewals Procedure producing the required outputs to support effective and robust delivery of the works to completion. 4.Ensure agreed performance and other KPI’s are met
5.Ensure compliance with Contract allowables for all works.
6.Ensure compliance with all relevant Safety Legislation and Welfare Regulations.
7.Ensure all works undertaken comply with contract specifications and Group and Line Standards.
8.Ensure all works are undertaken by competent staff.

Specific Job Requirements
1.Ensure maximum utilisation of resources in delivery of all works 2.Ensure all staff have the necessary skills and are competent to undertake all duties safely, efficiently and to Contract Specification. 3.Ensure all works are carried out safely in accordance with Rules, Regulations and appropriate Safety Legislation
4.Participate in the planning and preparation of Track Renewal works.
5.Co-ordinate/Chair/Attend and record site meetings.
6.Produce status and progress reports on site works.
7.Ensure all works are undertaken in accordance with the WPP and any deviations from programme timings are reported timorously.
8.Ensure track inspections are undertaken as stipulated in Network Rail Line Standard.
9.Undertake safety inspection as stipulated in Babcock Rail procedures and Contract requirements.
10.Assist in the production of WPP’s and Task Briefs.
11.Ensure appropriate Daily Work Returns (Planned v Actuals) are submitted timorously.
12.Undertake accident/incident investigations as required.
13.Ensure adequate provision of welfare facilities.
14.Procure tool, materials, small plant, lights etc for contracted works.
15.Participate in the Divisional Safety Briefing Programme.
16.Attendance at meetings as required.
17.‘On Call’ as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

Knowledge
1.In depth knowledge of Track Renewals discipline.
2.Excellent knowledge of Rules and Regulations, HASAW and other appropriate regulations, including Group Standards.
3.Knowledge of financial controls.


Skills & Abilities
1.Excellent interpersonal and man management skills.
2.Ability to write clear and concise reports.
3.Ability to drive
4.PTS, Lookout, Handsignalman, PICOP, COSS and Engineering Supervisor Experience. Experience Permanent Way maintenance/track renewals with experience at Senior Infrastructure Technician or equivalent level.
