To assist with Signal Works Testing activities on Signalling Projects as allocated by the Testing & Commissioning Manager / Project Tester In Charge.

Essentially, your focus will be to support the Major Works Tester In Charge (TIC) in:

Testing activities on Trackside Transmission Systems, Signalling Networks and Supplementary Systems.
Signal works verification and functional testing activities on trackside signalling equipment.

To assist with Signal Works Testing activities on Signalling Projects as allocated by the Testing & Commissioning Manager / Project Tester In Charge.

Essentially, your focus will be to support the Tester In Charge (TIC) in:

Testing activities on Trackside Transmission Systems, Signalling Networks and Supplementary Systems.
Signal works verification and functional testing activities on trackside signalling equipment.

Key activities/Principal Accountabilities
• Carryout verification, configuration & validation testing and implementation of the Signalling System which has been installed in accordance with the Design details.
• Carryout Signalling Network, Transmission and Supplementary System testing activities and auditing of the activities.
• Provide support to the Testing & Commissioning Manager with the production of Testing Standards and Specifications.
• Provide support to the Testing & Commissioning Manager with the ongoing mentorship of testing staff for new technologies and testing techniques.
• Assist in verification, functional and validation testing of the Signalling System as directed by the Testing & Commissioning Manager / Project Tester in Charge.
• Reviewing and Reporting on Testing Sub-Contractor works (as required).
• Ensure safe systems are maintained with regards to laid down procedures / standards.
• Perform duties as directed by management from time to time
• Carry out duties according to the Health and Safety at Work Act, associated Railway Legislation and Company Codes of Conduct.
• Regular contact / interface with Signalling Design, Control Systems, Telecoms and Installation functions as required.

ESSENTIAL competencies & qualities
• Testing Modules 3C, 5.
• Holding or working toward appropriate IRSE Licence
• PTS, COSS, SPWEE, Driving Licence.
• Academic / Professional competence in Railway Signalling
• Good communication and time keeping skills.
• Good teamwork and motivational skills.
• Computer literate in MS Windows software packages.

DESIRABLE competencies & qualities
• Signal Works Testing Module 3B, 4, 6 (training provided if required).
• Previous/current Railway Signalling Testing experience
• SMTH Certification.
• Academic / Professional qualifications and/or work experience in one of the following; Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering or Transmission Systems Engineering
