The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) plays host to Andrew McNaughton, Chief Engineer at High Speed Two Ltd, as he delivers the IET Annual Railway Network Lecture on 22 October.
The lecture is free to attend and is the rail industry’s chance to get together and hear a top name in railway engineering talk about the very latest developments and future innovations. Entitled High Capacity and High Speed Travel: A 21st Century Solution, Professor McNaughton will take his audience on a journey into what might be next for the rail industry.
With a career spanning over 35 years, Professor McNaughton’s achievements include re-creating, for Railtrack and subsequently Network Rail, an engineering function, which included all rail system disciplines including human performance, responsible for specifying the work to operate, maintain and develop the rail network.
High Speed Two Ltd was established to develop the case for high speed rail in Great Britain and specific proposals for a line between London and the Midlands and further North.
The lecture will be followed by a dinner for which both individual tickets and sponsored tables are available. As well as their table, sponsors receive a range of benefits including their logo on the marketing materials, profile in the booklet handed to all attendees on the night and banner stand at the dinner.
