Paul John Plant, the specialist plant hire division of Paul John Group, has appointed Gareth Richardson as Operations Director – Rail.

Mr Richardson joins from Hydrex and has extensive experience of the rail infrastructure industry. At Hydrex he held senior positions including commercial manager, national rail manager and operations manager north. He formerly worked at Balfour Beatty Rail Plant.

Says managing director, Keith Price, ‘This is a significant appointment for Paul John Plant. Over the past five years, our rail business has grown steadily and we have built an excellent reputation within the industry for the quality of our work in on-track rail renewal programmes. Now with Gareth joining us I believe we’re in a great position to expand our service-offering even further and develop strategic partnerships with our customer base.’

Gareth Richardson has over 15 years experience in rail and a further 10 years in construction and civils plant. Says Gareth,  ‘I’m very pleased to be part of Paul John Plant at this time. This is a listening business and the strength of the company’s operations, resources and management team make this a great opportunity for me to join them and help to develop their rail infrastructure programme and increase their business across the board.’
