To establish and maintain key relationships with the UK’s leading Rail infrastructure Contractors together with our White Collar and Blue Collar workforce. Enable SkyBlue’s continuity of work within the Rail sector through the determination of customer solutions and the adoption of industry best practice for all associated Professional Service Contractors and agency workers.
- Business Strategy, Quality, Health, Safety and Environment
- Support the establishment of the strategic direction of SkyBlue within the Rail sector including a planned transition from CP5 into CP6 works as well as forthcoming HS2 opportunities.
- Support SkyBlue in maintaining Rail industry accreditation (RISQS) and SkyBlue’s Quality, Health & Safety, Environment, Business Governance, HR and other relevant and necessary business policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and statutory requirements associated with SkyBlue’s business activities.
- Business Delivery
- Accountable for the management and co-ordination of SkyBlue’s Rail sector delivery and work pipeline.
- Provide leadership, effective communication and attention to the well-being of SkyBlue’s White Collar and Blue Collar workforce.
- In collaboration with Rail sector key customers, establish the pipeline of work assignment opportunities for our workforce and manage the transition of assignments to optimise worker and customer satisfaction.
- Develop the strategic capability of SkyBlue’s Rail capability to enable the SkyBlue business to become a preferred supplier into our key rail customers.
- Work with the support of our Recruitment Function to fulfil customer requirements for Professional Service Contractors and agency workers.
- Management of Staff
- Management oversight for SkyBlue White Collar and Blue Collar workers, ensuring competent resource is in place to deliver works and services.
- Support liaison with Trade Union representatives as required, to resolve any issues that may arise.
- Address the management and wellbeing of SkyBlue’s temporary worker population in the Rail sector.
- Advise the business with respect to the training and personal development needs of all directly employed staff and operatives, ensuring that all personnel are kept abreast of current legislation, new working practices and technological changes relating to the Rail sector.
- Financial
- Support the business in determining market competitive rate cards and an innovative approach to pricing that sets us apart from others suppliers in the market.
- Suggest and examine opportunities to generate additional and third party income and develop agreed initiatives.
- Support the identification of commercial implications and risks/opportunities of works and services undertaken and the wider impact of these on the business.
- Candidate Profile
- Experience
- Experience in leading Rail sector resourcing at senior level.
- Track record of delivery in resourcing across Rail infrastructure with sector insight and expertise.
- Knowledge
- Sector experience in markets and recruitment.
- Management Skills
- Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills to drive forward and influence the business at all levels as well as Rail’s leading Contractors and workers at all levels.
- Sound organisational skills and the ability to deal with demanding clients and customers.
