A challenging role with tight timescales within a Network Rail asset data improvement project. The role includes analysis of asset data structures and associated systems to improve the maintenance of the railway. First by improving the ‘as is’ state and then by proposing the desired future state to drive forward better asset maintenance.

The ideal candidate will enjoy problem solving, working independently and with others.

Role

Following the guidance of the defined programme processes, the candidate will be responsible for the management and delivery of an improved asset data management discipline design. The design will take into account the current operating model, the software’s capability and the organisation’s needs.

The role consists of:

• Analysis of asset and work data, with a strong attention to detail
• Investigating the nature of assets and work to inform improvements required
• Analysis of current business needs and requirements
• Communicating improved design to the end users and monitoring compliance
• Reporting directly into the programme lead and communicating project progress to the team
• Oversee the various key data transformation processes completed by other teams, including AIS changes, data repatriation, systems impact assessments, mobile scripting.

• Working with a diverse group of stakeholders
• Proactively seeking input from SMEs and end users

Requirements and skills

The required skills for the role:

• Rail knowledge is essential
• Ability to plan and prioritise competing workloads essential
• Experience of Network Rail is desirable.
• Knowledge of ELLIPSE or alternative asset management systems management is highly desirable
• Knowledge of asset management practices is desirable
• Business analysis experience in a rail or data environment is desirable

• Competent with MS Office suite, particularly skilled in use of Excel
• Detailed orientated completer finisher
• Experience in a client facing role desirable
• Quick study focussed on delivering outcomes

The team consists of a number of project managers working on similar work streams, data analysts, Ellipse and Network Rail SMEs.
