We are currently recruiting for a Project Controls Analyst to be based at our clients the London office to support the growth demands of the Rail sector. There is also option for the contract to develop into a permanent role and training will be provided for circa the first 2-3 weeks

The selected candidate for this position needs to demonstrate competence in the below:

• Skilled in manipulating large and complex data sets to represent the data formats necessary to control projects and programmes of work
• Strong analytic and numeracy skills with the ability to understand and present data in different representations
• Strong knowledge of project management and associated methodologies, in relation to planning, monitoring and controlling projects throughout their lifecycle
• Understands financial terminology and recognises the financial impact of various project actions
• Analyses financial data to identify key project issues
• Prepares cost forecasts which can be updated periodically
• Prepares and analyses progress trends and cost impact
• Possesses the knowledge of change management
• Understands budgeting and key cost drivers in a project
• Prepares and assists in various levels of project reporting
• Participates in and may lead project cost review meetings
• Strong communicator, (both written and verbal), to liaise with the client, contractors and designers
• Client facing and comfortable in high pressure environments
• Confident in delivering information to senior management

Minimum Requirements

• Degree qualified
• BA/BSc in accounting, maths, statistics, MORSE, Actuarial sciences, Engineering
• 3+ years' experience in similar role (ideally within finance department of a Rail or constructrion related company)
• Excellent capability in the use of Excel
• Competence in the Microsoft Office Suite of products (Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
• Knowledge of MS Project is desirable
• Knowledge in Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) is desirable
