PRIMARY BASE: Rowe Hankins Ltd
ACCOUNTABLE TO: Managing Director
STAFF MANAGEMENT: Sales and Marketing Teams
PURPOSE OF ROLE & Requirements
The individual will ideally come from the railway industry, with a comprehensive understanding of railway traction and or with an electrical / mechanical / electronic background. The role requires the person to have a mature approach to Sales, along with Engineering knowledge.
The objective is to lead the sales team and the marketing strategy communications to contribute towards the growth of Rowe Hankins Ltd. The role is responsible for developing the future of the company and promote the brand of Rowe Hankins Ltd. Main focus, growing / expanding the business portfolio and turnover, target of growth over £1m increase year on year.
This role will be based in our Bury office, most of your working week, with other times to be taken up with depot / customer visits. You will lead the internal sales team and advise the Marketing & Communications Manager on business strategy
The Team is made of a multi-diverse individuals, with many years’ experience in the Railway Traction industry. Three office-based staff and two external Sales personnel
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Work with the sales and marketing teams to set marketing and sales strategies and align key objectives to the business strategy including budgets and ROI.
· Collaborate with the Sales & Marketing teams to plan and lead the sales strategy.
· Work collaboratively with the Sales & Marketing teams and relevant departments to understand the market, analyse customer needs and identify opportunities to increase revenue and the sales pipeline.
· Lead the marketing strategy and identify new revenue opportunities and optimise Rowe Hankins Ltd, marketing processes.
· Improve product marketability and profitability by liaising with the relevant departments to aid with R and D, product development and other PR activities (promotional activities, website design, social media plans).
· Lead and evaluate the marketing and sales objectives and communicate relevant information in meetings and reports.
· Lead internal and external communications including but not limited to PR and corporate communication, advertising, data analytics, social channel management, annual media campaigns and events.
· Continually assess and track effectiveness of campaigns and activities to ensure the budget spend delivers a ROI.
. Maximise sales and marketing opportunities around keys dates and negotiate third party deals when necessary.
· Sustain rapport with key accounts by making periodic visits, exploring specific needs and anticipating new opportunities.
· Develop junior team members, conducting one to ones and providing training and support.
· Communicate with all departments the marketing and sales strategies and promote the Rowe Hankins Ltd brand.
Health and Safety
· Undertake any training required in order to understand the general H&S issues in relation to Rowe Hankins Ltd. operations.
· Ensure adherence to all relevant Rowe Hankins Ltd. Health and Safety procedures and safe systems of working.
Logistics
· Develop, communicate and lead towards agreed delivery performance measures.
· Liaise between relevant departments to ensure targets and timelines are achievable and maintained.
Communications
· Understand customer demands and expectations in line with the ethos of high standards of customer satisfaction.
· Maintain and develop colleague, client and third-party relationships, in order to build positive working relationships.
· Ensure that all deadlines are met in a timely manner and clients/colleagues are kept informed of progress.
· Communicate with all other departments within Rowe Hankins, contributing new ideas, raising any issues, supporting others were necessary and sharing information to drive the Rowe Hankins Ltd brand.
· Contribute to team meetings, management meetings and board reports as and when required.
Continuous Development
· Continually monitor and review current systems of working in order to seek improvements and promote a continuous improvement culture with Rowe Hankins.
· Adhere to key measures and ensure understanding of measures of performance both personal, within your department and company-wide.
· Contribute ideas and seek out and promote ideas and suggestions for improvements from other departments, to promote and help facilitate, a continuous improvement culture with Rowe Hankins.
Responsibility for Quality
· Ensure adherence to all quality measures.
· Monitor the performance of third parties, suppliers and products to ensure that the required standards are met and where necessary failures are reported to ensure the correct remedial action is taken.
· Provide internal feedback to the marketing and sale teams and where necessary communicate training needs to HR or the relevant body.
Personal Responsibility
· Remain up to date with professional knowledge by participating in training and other continued professional development opportunities to keep knowledge and qualifications up to date.
· To comply with the Rowe Hankins Ltd. handbook, policies and procedures.

· To undertake any other duties appropriate within the broad remit of the role.

Administration
Effectively use all Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Word and Excel.
An understanding of Data Protection (GDPR) responsibilities, for oneself, team and the organisation.
Ability to manage multiple projects and effectively maintain accurate paper and electronic filing systems.
Adhere to procedures relating to the proper use and care of equipment and materials for which the role has responsibility.
Keep a call log and visit logs to ensure the business is informed of all prospects, opportunities and customer requests.
This role does require international travel
