Experienced Required

• Qualified in a relevant commercial, procurement or business administration qualification;
• Previous project procurement experience within the construction industry
• Experienced in the procurement of materials, plant &/or labour
• Commercial aware, knowledge of Supply Chain and performance management, tendering & supplier selection.
• Knowledge of railway terminology and procedures an advantage, not essential.

The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Buyer with 2+ years' experience, to work for a Tier 1 Contractor on major railway projects and frameworks.

Acting as support for the Senior Procurement Manager, you will be involved in pro-actively seeking and implementing opportunities for added value procurement through buying materials, services, contracting, improved cost effective supply arrangements and negotiation.

Day to day responsibilities will include; working with senior managers to assist with improvements and streamlining of processes to reduce costs, processing Sub-Contract and Purchase orders, providing support in the planning, execution and performance capture of key Sub-Contractors and Suppliers.
