My client, a Principal Contractor to the Rail Industry, are looking for a Buyer to join their Team in Exeter for purchasing civils across the southern region.

If appointed, you will work closely with project staff to meet the procurement schedule for projects, in accordance with internal procurement policies and processes. For lower value contracts, works with Procurement colleagues to ensure best value deals are obtained that leverage the company scale.

Main responsibilities will be

- To ensure project requirements are met and best value deals are negotiated that meet savings targets;
- To manage total annual spend typically up to approximately £2 million per annumm and lower risk/complexity;
- To negotiate agreements for existing projects that support on time delivery and meet SHEQ requirements;

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

- A basic understanding of and an exposure to project procurement;
Have a track record of making savings with experience of negotiating deals of lower value
- Experience of running lower value, risk tenders and ITTs;
- Past experience us procurement processes and systems (e.g. COINS, P-cards) or the competency to do so.
- Capability to manage and run lower value, risk ITTs and RFPs successfully.
