Role responsibilities:
1 Plan, organise and co-ordinate purchases of materials by using the systems available to ensure timely delivery.
2 Resolve complex delivery, quality or other related problems with purchases and invoices
3 Negotiate prices and quality requirements with direct material suppliers
4 Perform value analysis to identify potential cost improvements and develop cost saving proposals
5 Co-ordinate activities to ensure sufficient batches of raw materials are in stock to meet conformance and manufacturing requirements in line with Production Plans
6 Support sourcing, supplier selection, evaluation, and other supplier management activities in line with global and local policies and procedures
8 Liaise with manufacturing departments in sourcing of materials, on new projects or during research in to alternative suppliers / materials and ensure risk mitigation strategies are considered.
9 Perform various SAP routines to ensure data integrity and produce various reports to support operational needs
10 Establish good working relationships with internal customers & external partners to optimise the material flow process
11 Perform work in compliance with established procedures and ensure all quality records, as defined within the Quality System, are completed according to the required standards and in a timely manner
12 Complies with all company EHS and Quality policies and procedures at all times. Highlights any real potential EHS and Quality issues to management in a timely manner.
Previous experience in a production environment is essential.
Experience of SAP and Chemical/Biological purchasing is an advantage.
