BIM/CAD Engineer in Coulsdon, Surrey, United Kingdom
Are you an experienced BIM/CAD Engineer who can provide high quality 2D and 3D drawings and models, using Microstation and AECOsim software?
Ford & Stanley - The Rail Recruitment Experts are recruiting a BIM/CAD Engineer to join an established business in Surrey who have recently won a piece of work to support a large Rail Extension project in London. In order to fulfil this work they need to strengthen their engineering team to provide the delivery of CAD designs and BIM Project Data. The role will be required to document information through design and into construction to achieve a cost effective design to an agreed programme, enabling cost saving construction and on-time handover.
Location: Coulsdon - Surrey with some travel into London
Contract Length: Initial 12 months with possibility to extend to 24 months.
Responsibilities:
- Provide high quality 2D/3D Drawings and Models using Microstation and AECOsim software.
- Maintain ProjectWise documents and local working environments.
- Understand and execute Building Information Modelling (BIM) protocols and Building Execution Plans (BEP)
- Co-ordinate BIM's with internal departments and the client.
- Co-ordinate drawings and models from design stage through to As-Built phase.
Experience required:
- At least 5 years' experience working in a high technology or civil engineering environment, preferably with site working experience.
- Minimum 3 years rail industry experience using BIM, specifically experience of CAD design processes for projects at design stage
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a CAD/ BIM design role using Aecosim
- Ability to create 2D & 3D drawings with Microstation and AECOsim.
- Be conversant with and have a good knowledge of ProjectWise and be capable of maintaining a quality recording system for all 2D/3D data.
- Have an understanding of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and be able to implement the principles of any client designed BIM system.
- Responsible for the delivery of all drawing deliverables for multi-discipline design projects, from initial kick-off to issue of deliverables.
- To show initiative when working alone and demonstrate good creative use of Bentley products within a controlled Quality Assurance led environment.
Personal skills:
This role requires someone with a good understanding of the rail industry. Must be a good team player but also be comfortable working alone. Must have the desire and commitment to complete a full project.
