CAD Technician
Elstree - Bedfordshire

My Client is looking for a CAD Technician to be based out of Elstree as part of the CAD Team you will provide CAD support within the infrastructure Design team, assisting the Senior CAD technician carrying out functions primarily related to the production of Civil and Electrical Drawings for use by the Design team, updating our client’s As-built records and other associated projects.

Accountabilities:

- Delivery and Management of CAD work items related to Planning Design Maintenance business stream
- Delivery of a consistently high standard of CAD work that requires a minimum standard of checking
- Development of understanding of processes and procedures associated with Civil/Electrical engineering, planning , traffic management requirements and development processes
- Preparation and issue of Civil and Electrical scheme drawings for the Source Design Services design team.
- Development of understanding or other drawing types such as TM and trial hole detailing.
- Processing essential updates to our client¡¦s As-built records and associated databases
- Logging; Classifying; Processing and Archiving requests.
- Ensuring departmental targets and client service level agreements are achieved at all times.
- Ensuring all processes and procedures are adhered to at all times to maximise operations within the department.Knowledge & key skills

Essential:

- Microstation 3D
- Able to demonstrate good organisational and time management skills
- Able to work accurately and methodically under pressure and to strict deadlines
- Able to work alone effectively and as part of a team
- Able to work on own initiative
- Able to demonstrate ability to communicate effectively and maintain good relationships with Clients and Internal clients.
- Good time keeping and attendance

Desirable:

- A working knowledge of CAD/GIS systems
- Previous experience in the preparation of Traffic Management scheme drawings
- A working Knowledge of MircoStation

Critical Success Factors:

- PC literate; fully conversant with standard Microsoft software
- Proficient in AutoCAD/MicroStation
- Able to work accurately and methodically under pressure and to strict deadlines
- Good time keeping and attendance
- Hard working and conscientious with a desire to succeed.
