The Company
Our client is a World-Famous specialist in the modification, overhaul and servicing of Rolling Stock and look after a variety of well-known clients throughout the country. Employing well over 150 people in the UK they are winning work like there’s no tomorrow and have contracts to carry out long term servicing and exam work as well as a whole host of mods. The time has come to welcome some additional, experienced personnel to this traditional company to enable them to fulfil their contracts.
Your Role
As an Exam Technician you will be responsible for ensuring that the Rolling Stock is safe to run by carrying out the final checks and sending the fleet to collect its passengers. You will get involved with fuel point exams, mechanical checks and electrical checks ensuring that every aspect of the fleet is safe and ready to leave the depot. This company are responsible for ensuring that their client receive the highest DfT score possible for performance and reliability so it’s not just one train you are responsible for. The spotlight is on you for the entire contract!! This is a real chance to shine!!
You
You will most likely have been a career Rolling Stock professional with a wealth of experience on DMUs e.g. Turbostars, Sprinters or Voyagers. You will be a self-starter who needs little or no supervision and most of all you will enjoy working on these classic trains. You will be expected to demonstrate that you have an Apprenticeship or a minimum of an NVQ Level 3. Preferably dual trained but if not don’t worry, you will be still be considered. And if you’ve been out of the industry for a while but are looking to make a return we would also love to hear from you.
Your Reward
As the latest addition to this expanding organisation you will receive an hourly rate of £22 and will be given the opportunity to demonstrate your DMU knowledge with a possibility of staying long-term (who knows what the future holds?). This depot is a great place to work and we are looking for 2 Technicians so you can bring a colleague / friend with you!! (cheap digs!!! Happy days.)
