THE ROLE
Your new career as a Maintenance Technician will start with a comprehensive training programme so you can learn about the rail industry and begin your introduction to rolling stock maintenance and engineering. Your training will continue with specialist tutors and skilled engineers providing you with coaching and instruction until you become an expert in the field.
In the role, you will work in a team on a shift basis to fault-find, inspect and complete maintenance of electrical, mechanical and pneumatic systems onboard heavy rolling stock. Together, you will resolve issues and complete tasks within deadline whilst upholding high standards of safety and quality. You’ll have regular team briefings on objectives, performance and company news so you’ll always feel connected and know about opportunities across the whole business that may just be your next promotion.
THE PACKAGE
You can expect a starting salary of £35,000 plus excellent benefits including a final salary pension.
WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY
The practical requirements for this role is a minimum NVQ Level 2 qualification in a suitable engineering subject and experience of maintaining plant, industrial equipment, aircraft, vessels or vehicles. You’ll need to be able to pass a medical that will include hearing, sight and mobility plus drugs and alcohol testing.
