An ex forces engineering manager needs your help to turn around an underperforming maintenance depot by driving discipline and commitment to meet tight deadlines and ensure that our client is seen as best in class. We are keen to talk to individuals with electrical or mechanical skills and knowledge of any kind of vehicle maintenance or repair.
The Opportunity
Our client is looking for technicians with a mechanical or electrical background who has previous experience within the Bus and coach industry, there are looking for go getters who aren't afraid of a challenge, the safety and reliability of our client's fleet is vital in making sure they can provide the highest levels of service to their customers. Dealing with a full range of systems, your job covers diagnosis and repairs, routine examinations, servicing and parts replacement in accordance with all relevant Engineering Standard Operating Procedures.
Location (s): Sheffield
Role and Responsibilities:
- The position reports into the Engineering Manager. Working as part of the team, the successful applicant will be responsible for the following duties:
- To diagnose and carry out MOT preps, general vehicle repairs, servicing and parts replacement in accordance with central engineering standard operating procedures
- Vehicle fault diagnostics and repair including welding and repaint where necessary
- To fully comply with all HS & E legislation along with Group policies
- To fully comply with all relevant Engineering SOPs
- Maintain and develop technical skills as required
- Any duty deemed reasonable by the Engineering Manager and supervisors
- Working on a shift rota five over seven days
Essentials
Able to carry out diagnosis testing
A Minimum level 3 NVQ standard or equivalent (i.e. City & Guilds level 1 & 2
