Job Title:Quality Technician
Responsible To:Quality Manager

Job Purpose
To monitor the Quality status at all customers in a robust and thorough way and to ensure any quality concerns are dealt with in the allotted time as specified by the customer.
Dimensions
This role is a liaison with customers, maintaining and improving on Quality. During all your activities align your working style and behaviour to the Company value system as detailed below and in the Company Handbook.
Role of Department
To continually improve activities in support of the development of the Company offering to the market place and existing customers to strengthen the business and intellectual capability. To drive a philosophy of defect prevention rather than inspection through the adoption, implementation and policing of TS16949.
Key Responsibilities
ProductTo monitor and report weekly on the status of all customer 8Ds to the Quality Manager. At the same time submit solutions to achieve any slippage.
Control of warranty claims. Effective liaison with all customers via telephone in respect of warranty claims, carry out site visits to inspect and/or investigate product against customer PSWs. Reporting back to the Quality manager with a report of findings and work to satisfy customer deadlines without breaching internal systems.
Monitor customer supplier portals on a daily basis and protect the business by responding to issues detailed with urgency.
To ensure containment actions are initiated at the customer to sort parts which are not to the Quality Standards agreed. Issue and evaluate customer 8Ds and verify corrective actions. Accurate and up to date records of actions must be maintained.
Track data effectively to deliver accurate information on PPM to Quality Manager.
ProfitContinually seek ideas for improving daily activities to reduce costs and improve quality. Communicate these ideas to your Manager.
Drive and support the requirements to up hold accreditations (eg. TS16949, OHSAS18001 and ISO14001).
Support and contribute to Continuous Improvement groups i.e. Paintbox Enabler Team Activity.

Attend a monthly 1-to-1 with your Manager.
Maintain your personal Training Matrix validations (PF566), ensuring they are accurately completed by yourself, trainers and the validating manager.
You will be expected to learn and develop additional skills to maximise a multi-skilled approach.
Community
Keep your area of work clean and tidy at all times. Adhering to the standards of the 5s housekeeping audit, therefore minimising risk to products and employees.
Ensure that you understand and comply with Health and Safety at Work regulations and Comply with Health and Safety at all times.
Drive and support the requirements to up hold accreditations (TS 16949 & ISO 14001.
Carry out all tasks within your scope of work in a safe manner and as set out in the relevant procedures and work instructions.
Report all accidents, potential near miss/risk situations and defective equipment using the agreed procedure and wear Company issued PPE without fail.
Key Performance Indicators
Achieve targets set by the Quality Manager for supplied parts delivered PPM.
Achieve the target as set continually for the number of open 8Ds.
Ensure no non conformances with the TS16949 process relating to the Quality Department.
Absence (sickness) below 2%.
Audit Accreditation and zero defects attributable to department.
