Rolling Stock Maintenance Technician - £35,000 per annum + benefits – London

My client is an established rail operator who have a passion for delivering excellence to their passengers. They are looking to expand their engineering department by taking on Maintenance Technicians to service, maintain and repair their fleet, with a focus on the wheelsets & bogies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out routine examinations from frequent service checks to thorough and detailed Heavy Exams
• Take care of servicing, maintenance and repair tasks on our international fleets in line with your competency level
• Keep the safety of our travellers and teams as your top priority
• Keep our rolling stock assets in the best possible condition by delivering the right servicing and maintenance at the right standard
• Keep your eyes peeled for faults on a variety of systems
• Proactively bring up any observations, concerns or recommendations that could affect or improve what we do
• Carry out shunting duties, basic plant maintenance and repairs

Requirements:

• Maintenance experience on rolling stock (preferred) however my client will accept applications from an Automotive or Aerospace background also
• The skill to make accurate assessments and decisions about component and system condition according to good engineering practices and company standards
• To work productively in a pressurised environment while staying positive
• The ability to react positively to changes in short and long-term plans, taking a rounded view to deviations to the planned workload
• To adapt your interpersonal style to suit different people and situations
• The interest to stay up to date on changes to company processes and procedures

The depot is a 24/7 operation and the Engineering Teams currently work a shift pattern of days and nights although this may occasionally vary depending on current tasking and the team you join.
