The company have secured a number of high profile orders with full life-cycle maintenance contracts to manufacture and maintain brand new trains and as a result, will look to increase their headcount to meet the demands of these contracts.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

You’ll be an exceptional fault finder within the rolling stock sector, with a calm and diplomatic manner and the ability to work under pressure. As the Lead Technician you’ll be able to support, teach and mentor other maintenance staff.

ABOUT THE JOB

You’ll be working on the newest trains within the UK, ensuring that high level fault finding is conducted and recorded in accordance with the appropriate rules and regulations. You’ll be supporting the maintenance teams on a shift basis in a new and modern rolling stock maintenance depot where you’ll undertake preventative and corrective maintenance on new rolling stock, including fault finding and repairs using laptops and remote train diagnostics. Working at outstations and mainline stations to provide technical support will also be an occasional requirement.

This role will give you the opportunity to gain a greater understanding of rolling stock component reliability and trend analysis enabling you to progress your career towards a Team Leader or Performance Engineer! The shift rotation is 4 on 4 off / 5 on 5 off - mix of Days / Nights.

THE REQUIREMENTS

NVQ 3 or above in an Engineering related discipline.

Experience of rail vehicle maintenance / fault finding / testing / commissioning

THE SALARY

Total remuneration is £49,407.90 (basic salary is £37,746 plus 15% shift allowance and £6k London allowance), 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, fantastic pension scheme and a wide range of flexible benefits
