We are working with a major consultancy operating within Transport and Infrastructure who are looking to increase the size of their successful team. They currently have a requirement for an experienced Senior CAD Technicianto join their team in Manchester on a permanent basis.

The purpose of the role is to apply company procedures and systems to promote high levels of health, safety and wellbeing of staff and other stakeholders whilst personally contributing to and leading these initiatives.

Proactively contribute to the effective and consistent implementation of Company policies and procedures. Support the business in work winning and engineering delivery, maximising all opportunities with Clients.

Assist in safeguarding profitability through engagement with other staff and promote efficient engineering delivery based on a right first time principle.

Maintain and expand the skill set of the team in support of company ventures as they develop.

Essential

• A high level of ability in Microstation CAD systems and able to give comprehensive guidance to others.
• Experience within the rail sector covering a broad range of design challenges at different stages of design development.
• A high level of ability in applying procedures and standards that apply to CAD and able to give comprehensive guidance to others.
• Knowledge of other CAD platforms and tools related to CAD.
• Experience of using data management systems.
• Experience of safety standards and CDM regulations and a track record of applying them, showing and ability to identify and mitigate hazards in designs.
• Experience of civil engineering design principles and standards.
• Experience of construction principles and standards.
• Experience of working with contractors in a design and build environment.
• Experience in the use of supplementary CAD tools such as CADS RC or Autotrack.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
