Principal Accountabilities
Ÿ With minimal supervision undertake routine examinations of the alloacted rolling stock to meet the requirements of the customer
Ÿ Assist other Team Members with the Rolling Stock maintenance in order to develop technican skills
Ÿ Notify Supervisor of any defects or vandalism
Ÿ Report any incidents to the Supervisor
Ÿ Undertake any other duties as and when required

LOCATION : Watford
Knowledge & Experience
Ÿ Knowledge of preventative maintenance principles
Ÿ Understanding of train safety related systems
Ÿ Understands and cares for tools, equipment and PPE as appropriate
Ÿ Basic knowledge of IT systems
Ÿ Good knowledge of the requirements of the operational railway
Ÿ Good knowledge of Health and Safety regulations including bio-hazards, Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) and manual handling
Ÿ Good communication skills both oral and written
Ÿ Ability to complete all records of actions and operations accurately and to procedures

Ÿ Ensure compliance with depot and/or station protection procedures
Ÿ Accept a personal responsibility to take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and of other persons who may be affected by their acts and omissions
Ÿ Take reasonable care to avoid acts or omissions that could have an environmental impact
Ÿ Ensure compliance with the BMS procedures relative to their position
Ÿ Follow depot and/or station emergency procedures
Ÿ Wear approved protective clothing and using safety equipment when required by health and safety regulations
Ÿ Use all equipment provided safely and notifying local management of any observed deficiencies or defects as soon as they become apparent
Ÿ Inform management of any changes in materials, plant or processes and of any new materials, plant or processes which become apparent in the course of work that may impact on safety or the environment
Ÿ Inform management of any potential improvements that could improve Siemens Rail Systems environmental performance
Ÿ Immediately inform management of any observed hazards, injuries or dangerous occurrences, which become apparent during work
Ÿ Stop work when instructed to do so and only resume or commence work when instructed it is safe to do so.
Ÿ Report all safety and environmental incidents and accidents
Ÿ Cooperate with the employer to ensure their statutory duties are fulfilled
