Technician - large scale fire testing, building facades
Due to an increasing volume of work the company have an exciting opportunity for the right individual to join their successful and expanding team fire testing building products. The work will involve setting up and testing of building systems to assess performance against National and International Standards.
The successful applicant will be required to:
Instrument and prepare test samples.
Undertake the fire testing of building products.
Work to Standards, Directives and UKAS accreditation procedures.
Record results and prepare reports.
Maintain calibration and quality records
Essential requirements include:
Excellent customer relationship skills.
Practical skills.
Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook and the ability to use search engines effectively.
Self-motivated and focused.
Accurate record-keeping.
Organisational skills.
Desirable requirements include:
Product testing experience preferably relevant to building products or fire testing.
Understanding of laboratory practices.
Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations relevant to the construction sector.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are also essential, as is the ability to maintain and build good customer relations, full training will be given. The role can be a physically demanding at times.
