Job Summary
As a Site Assistant Technician, you will be trained in our established working practices and the primary expectations for this role are as follows:
- Provide assistance to Field Operatives and Site Engineers.
- Undertake a wide range of fieldwork activities including trial pitting, drilling, concrete coring, in-situ testing and sampling in a number of different environments, including Rail and Highways.
- Generally support all Site Investigation fieldwork activities and provide basic factual data.
- Take pride in maintaining company equipment and vehicles to a high standard.
- Must be able to work nightshifts as required by project and be able to work away from home.
Minimum Requirements
Training and Experience
Essential:
- Full UK Driving licence.
- Possess good communication skills, a desire to learn, take responsibility for quality of deliverables and be able to work effectively as part of a team.
- An interest in Engineering.
- Basic computer literacy and ideally familiar with Email, Microsoft Word and Excel packages.
Preferred Qualifications
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths, English & Science
Desirable Qualifications:
- PTS, CSCS or any other H&S qualifications.
- Experience in working in a Railway and/or Highway environment
- Experience in the use of machinery or abrasive tools.
- Mechanically minded.
