Test and Commissioning Technician (Rail / Rolling Stock) - Liverpool (Allerton).
Our client is a renown train / Rail company who is who is witnessing a great expansion period at the moment. We are currently looking for several Test and Commissioning Technicians (Mechatronics) to test the new trains before they enter into service.

JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
As Test Technician, you will be responsible for taking the trains one by one from the production team and carrying out a structured, purpose written test plan in order to ensure that every single system on the train is in full working order before handing over to the Depot.
The testing will involve all the trains sub-systems: electrical, electronics, software, communications, hydraulics, pneumatics, etc.
- Carry out on-board testing for several test trains before their release into service.
- Ability to work at complex level tasks involving troubleshooting, testing, quality control, tuning, complicated repairs, interacting with production supervisor to discuss and/or resolve problems.
- Ensures that assignments are completed in the established time standards.
- Fills test reports, internal adjustments, and pending job information accurately
WORK CONDITIONS:
- Contract: Permanent
- Location: The role will be based in Allerton (South East Liverpool) but during the first initial months the technician will undergo an extensive training period in the company’s production and test centres in Europe (return trips to the UK + accommodation + daily bonus will be paid during this period). The training period will last 3 to 5 months.
- Working time: the work will be arranged in shifts, mainly morning, but also afternoon nights and some week-ends too depending on the end client's requirements and the track availability.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
- Minimum NVQ level 3 in disciplines such as: Electromechanical, Electronics / Electronic, Electrical, Mechanical, Automation, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Power, Microcontrollers / PLCs, Aviation, Transportation, etc.
- Previous experience in Railway / Rolling Stock / trains or similar industries: Military, Aviation, Aerospace, Naval, Submarine, Ships, Aircrafts, Helicopters, Industry / Industrial, Plant, Robots, Control systems, Transportation, Microcontrollers / PLCs.
- Previous experience as: Test / Commissioning Technician, Maintenance Technician, Service Technician, Project Technician, Field Technician, Installation Technician, Electrical Technician, Mechanical Technician, E&I Technician, Automation Technician, Electrician, Electronician, Rail Technician, Train Technician, Locomotive Technician, etc
- Competent to carry out work solely and to an advanced level.
