Civil/Drainage Engineer
We are looking to fill a positon with a large UK-based Civil and Structural Engineering firm for a Civil/Drainage Engineer based in Birmingham. This job will be an opportunity for someone to join a well-established team and work on a range of water, drainage and infrastructure projects. The role features a mix of infrastructure, static and flowing water, flood studies and housing developments. Ideally, the candidate will have experience of S27, S278, S104 and S388 agreements alongside experience of dealing with local authority planning teams i.e. Highways England/Local flood authorities.
A Masters Degree in Civil Engineering is preferable, alongside (working towards) chartership with the Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE) or Chartered Institute of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM). Experience of the preparation of Drainage Impact Assessments and Flood Risk Assessments across all zones would also be beneficial. Use of Microdrainage and proven experience of SuDS are essential for this role. Whilst no specific software apart from Microdrainage is required, previous work with relevant water modelling software would be advantageous.
The role will give the candidate the opportunity to take part in a range of exciting projects and work alongside a multidisciplinary team of other engineers. The applicant will be proactive and able to work well as part of a focused and driven team who strive for excellence and commit to positive, sustainable change within local communities whilst maintaining an awareness of project costs and who can self-manage when required.

Job Requirements:

- Chartered with either ICE or CIWEM

- Knowledge of drainage design, wastewater, highway drainage, flood protection, reservoirs
