THE ROLE

We are currently looking to strengthen our engineering team in the Glasgow office through the addition of a Engineer for our Bridges and Structures team to support our growth.

Working within our multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the delivery of the civil engineering design content on a range of challenging projects across rail engineering. If you are a committed and ambitious engineer who can demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills combined with commercial awareness and the ability to play their part in growing a dynamic high-performance team then we want to hear from you.

In this role, you will get a fantastic exposure to the broad civil and structural engineering field within infrastructure projects, primarily focusing on providing technical support to the Bridges and Structures team, including highway and rail bridge design, bride inspection and assessment, footbridge design and feasibility studies as well as general civils and temporary works design.

MAIN DUTIES

• Completing civil/structural engineering design calculations
• Prepare technical reports at various project stages including feasibility, conceptual and detailed design
• Co-ordinate the production of drawings
• Work closely with other related disciplines on the project (highways, drainage, utilities)
• Regular interface with the BIM team

SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree qualified in a relevant subject (Civil / Structural Engineering)
• Related work experience within infrastructure design/engineering companies
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experienced in the use of civil / structural software design packages
• Experienced in the use of both 2D and 3D structural analysis software
• Ability to produce Engineering designs and associated reports.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint is required
• Experience in Microsoft Project an advantage but not essential
