CIVILS AND ARCHITECTURAL ASSISTANT - Rail
Purpose of the Job
Support activities leading to maintenance readiness for handover of the Client Central Operating Section of by July 2018. Assist Maintenance Engineers in reviewing O&M documentation from Crossrail and ensuring as built information, asset data and spares is to the required quality and format at acceptance.
Principal Accountabilities
- Review of O&M technical information with validation exercise where necessary, ensuring information supplied in O&M including as-built drawings reflect the asset register, count and information which can identify the assets and their interface clearly.
- Carry out Site visits to confirm availability, asset information and extent of Civils Structures and Architectural assets due to lack of accurate information in the Crossrail's AIM (Asset Information Management) system
- Arrange multi department meetings, record actions and ensure deliverables are implemented in the 'plan'.
- Interface with MTR, Crossrail and Network Rail, Asset Engineering and Operations to ensure appropriate integration of procedures.
- Manage deliverables detailed in the maintenance readiness delivery plan
- Liaise with internal and external suppliers to ensure smooth transition of PPM
- Arrange multi department meetings, record actions and ensure deliverables are implemented in the 'plan'.
- Interface with LO, LU, MTR, Crossrail, Network Rail, Asset Engineering and Operations to ensure appropriate information is received and communicated as appropriate.
- Manage deliverables detailed in the maintenance readiness delivery plan
- Activities as decided by the line manager to achieve the departmental goals
Person Specification
- Experience in Civils and Premises (Architectural) Assets and the necessary maintenance requirements ideally in Railway environment.
- Experience in Design Review and Acceptance is highly desirable.
- Have good understanding about Project lifecycle and working knowledge of Project handover documentation production / review.
- Good understanding of Handover Process, Asset Information (O&Ms, Asset Data) would be desirable
- Able to understand complex and wide range of asset information including as built drawings, picking up information required for O&M accurately giving attention to detail.
- An awareness of Environment, Health, Safety, Security and Quality practices as applicable to a rail environment.
- Good organisational and interpersonal skills with proven ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Able to work using own initiative and manage own workload.
- Confident and professional in face-to-face, phone, email and web communications.
- High level of computer literacy, good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Word, Visio, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of documentation management systems.
- Experience of working in a railway maintenance environment would be advantageous.
