A great opportunity for a commercial assitant to join a well respected rail contractor on the commercial team. You will be involved in the asset management business for the LNE region and business unit, supporting a team of Quanity Surveyors on a busy portfolio of rail infrastructure maintenance works.

You will be joining a business involved in a range of rail/civil engineering works, including bridges, embankments, stations, platforms and tunnels. They are renowned in the industry as a specialist civil, building, mechanical and electrical renewals and maintenance business, with frameworks across the country.

Job Description

As Commercial Assistant you will work closely with Quantity Surveyors, Senior Quantity Surveyors and the Commercial Management team, becoming an integral part of the Asset Management team for the LNE Route.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing commercial support to the Asset Management team
• Re-measuring actual works delivered and drafting final accounts
• Sub-contractor payments and procurement
• Weekly reports and job tracker
• Creation and processing of order requests
• Compilation of final account packs for Network Rail
• Obtaining signed completion certificates and information from internal staff
• Distribution of completed SI's for estimating
• Various CVR data manipulation exercises
• Distribution of techical query forms to client and dealing with responses
• Gathering final account information
• Organising final acount information
• Issuing site inspections to the relevent QS to be estimated
• Ensuring all completion paperwork and estimates are filed

Role Requirements

• Well organised and pro-active
• Previous admin experience in a commercial team within the construction industry
• Excellent communication and IT skills (Microsoft Excel)
• Keen eye for detail
• Ambition to progress with a career in Quantity Surveying
